Engagements
Love is the magic that brings those moments to life
Engagements symbolize the beautiful transition from a romantic relationship to a lifelong partnership. It’s a time filled with joy, anticipation, and the promise of building a future together, where two people commit to sharing their lives and dreams in a union of love and trust.

I absolutely adore engagement photos—like, really adore them! They serve such an important dual purpose.
First, you’ll have amazing photos capturing the love between you and your partner. But just as important, it’s a chance for us to get to know each other. Let’s face it, not many couples feel totally at ease in front of the camera at first (I know I didn’t!). Think of this shoot as a warm-up. It gives you the chance to see how I work, try out some of my fun prompts, and get a feel for my style. And for me, it’s a great way to learn more about you as a couple! Some of you might be all about the PDA or getting goofy, while others prefer a more reserved vibe. And that’s perfect! The engagement session helps me figure out how to capture your true selves in a way that feels natural.
Having had an engagement session together makes a world of difference on your wedding day. Instead of feeling like we’re just meeting for the first time, we’ll be saying, “Hey! So good to see you!” instead of a formal “Hi, I’m Niki! It’s been lovely emailing you!” You’ll already feel comfortable, know how to pose, and won’t be worried about anything because you’ll be total pros! You can just enjoy the moment—exactly where you should be!
Booking Your Engagement Session
It’s never too early or too late to book your session, unless you’re planning to use the photos for your Save the Dates. If that’s the case, I recommend scheduling your session at least 4 months before your wedding.
Time of Day
Lighting is key to creating beautiful photos! The best light happens at sunrise and the two hours before sunset, so ideally, we’ll aim for an early morning or evening shoot.
The season is really up to your personal preference and when your wedding is happening.
Rain Date
It’s always a good idea to pencil in a rain date just in case! We want to be prepared for anything.
Location
The location really depends on the vibe you want for your photos. I love doing most sessions outdoors, but the key is choosing a spot where you both feel comfortable and relaxed while we capture beautiful moments.
You can either pick locations that reflect who you are as a couple, places where you love to spend time together. Or if you’re drawing a blank, let me send you a list of stunning spots, and you can pick the one that speaks to you.
If there’s a place you’ve always wanted to visit or a new spot you’re excited to try, just let me know—I’m all in!
